en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Waterfall City Conference Centre and Hotel (WCCCH), located within the Waterfall City development in Midrand, Gauteng, has officially entered the construction phase following a groundbreaking ceremony. The project is being jointly developed by Attacq and Rabie Property Group, with an investment of R750 million.

The hotel will feature 180 rooms and apartments, equipped with an all-day restaurant, swimming pool, spa, and wellness facilities such as a gym. The conference centre can accommodate 1,350 delegates in a single venue or host 2,000 guests across 16 flexible event spaces.

David Oosthuizen, Executive Director of Development at Attacq, stated that this project has been in the pipeline for five years and has finally reached the implementation stage, representing a natural extension of the management team's vision for the development of Waterfall City. The conference centre and hotel will serve as a catalyst for the development of the entire area, with significant changes expected in Waterfall City over the next 18 months.

WCCCH will be operated by African Rain Collection, a company that has managed the Century City Conference Centre and Hotel as well as other hotels and restaurants in Cape Town, bringing over a decade of experience in business events and hotel operations.

Gary Koetser, Chief Executive Officer of African Rain Collection, noted that the groundbreaking marks a significant milestone for all stakeholders, and the positive response received since the project's announcement, along with feedback from the market, media, and tourism industry, indicates that this is a product Johannesburg needs.

WCCCH is scheduled to be fully operational in the first quarter of 2028, and bookings for conferences and events are now open.
