en.Wedoany.com Reported - TCL Solar recently won the module supply project from Australian infrastructure company DT Infrastructure, and will exclusively supply high-efficiency modules for the Smoky Creek and Guthrie's Gap photovoltaic power stations in Queensland, with a total project scale of 720MW, making it a globally ultra-large BC back-contact photovoltaic project.

The project is scheduled to commence construction in Q2 2027. The modules supplied for this project are TCL Solar's BC photovoltaic modules, with a conversion efficiency of 24.2%, backed by a 15-year product warranty and a 30-year power warranty. Once operational, the power stations are expected to generate an average annual output of 1.589 million MWh, which will be used to optimize Queensland's energy structure and advance the local carbon neutrality process.
The implementation of this project signifies that BC technology has expanded from high-end residential applications to large-scale ground-mounted power station scenarios, broadening its application boundaries. Zhang Enshi, President of TCL Solar's International Business and Global Marketing Center, stated that winning this bid demonstrates BC technology's capability for large-scale deployment in major photovoltaic projects. Adam Farquer, Project Director at DTI, believes that BC technology is poised to provide new momentum for Australia's renewable energy development.

TCL Solar currently operates under a dual-brand model with TCL Solar and SunPower, integrating long-term technological expertise with a global manufacturing footprint. Following several previous overseas large-scale photovoltaic projects, this 720MW project once again sets a new record for global large-scale BC photovoltaic installed capacity, offering photovoltaic product solutions from China for global low-carbon development.
