Peru's Quilla Secures $25 Million to Advance Chapi Pre-Feasibility Study

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Quilla Resources has secured $25 million in funding through a capital increase and royalty arrangement to advance the pre-feasibility study for the expansion of its Chapi mine in Arequipa, Peru. The company plans to increase copper cathode production capacity from the current 10,000 tonnes per year to 30,000 tonnes.

The funding will be used for the field and office work required for the pre-feasibility study, including diamond drilling, hydrogeological surveys, geotechnical and metallurgical studies, as well as technical work to support the next phase of project development.

As part of its growth strategy, Quilla Resources is also considering a listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) to raise capital for future expansion.

The expansion is based on the resource potential of the Cuprita, Atahualpa, Pampa Negra, and Candelaria zones, which lie within the southern Peru copper metallogenic belt, one of the world's most significant geological belts for porphyry copper deposits.

The Chapi mine currently produces Grade A copper cathodes with 99.999% purity. The mine resumed operations in the first quarter of 2026 and is currently consolidating its production operations.

The company holds approximately 25,800 hectares of mining rights and over 5,400 hectares of surface ownership, assets that support its long-term growth strategy and the development of new mineral resources in the region.
