en.Wedoany.com Reported - Trinasolar has been selected as the solar module supplier for the Good Earth Green Hydrogen and Ammonia (GEGHA) project near Moree, New South Wales (NSW), Australia. This project is the first green hydrogen and ammonia facility in New South Wales.
The GEGHA project includes a 27 MW solar power plant, which will adopt Trinasolar 510W and 515W Vertex S+ (NEG18R.28) modules. These modules are based on n-type i-TOPCon technology and feature a thermally reinforced dual-glass design to meet the durability, weather resistance, and low degradation requirements of long-term renewable energy projects. The n-type i-TOPCon technology helps reduce light-induced degradation, ensuring stable power generation throughout the project's entire lifecycle, thereby lowering lifecycle costs.
The project is currently under construction. Once completed, the facility is expected to produce up to 200 tonnes of green hydrogen and 4,500 tonnes of low-carbon ammonia annually, aiming to replace imported fossil-fuel-based fertilizers and support agricultural emission reduction.
Edison Zhou, Head of Trinasolar in Australia and New Zealand, stated that projects like GEGHA demonstrate the role of solar energy in driving emerging industries such as green hydrogen and low-carbon fertilizer production. By supplying high-performance Vertex S+ modules for the project's solar power plant, Trinasolar is providing the renewable energy foundation for green hydrogen and low-carbon ammonia production.
Joe Cumming, Senior Project Manager at Hiringa Energy, stated that GEGHA is designed as a commercial pilot for decentralized hydrogen and fertilizer production, which can be replicated across regional Australia. For a project aimed at demonstrating a long-term regional model, reliable solar power generation is crucial, and Trinasolar's n-type dual-glass technology, along with its experience in the Australian market, were important considerations in module selection.
