en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Port of Progreso (Puerto de Progreso) has received the first oversized cargo in the development logistics of the Tizimín II wind power project, marking the first of five maritime operations in the supply of key components for this energy project.

The cargo arrived aboard the cargo vessel "Chipol Donghai," docked at the multipurpose terminal of the Port of Progreso, with the voyage originating from Taicang Port in China. The vessel has an overall length of 188.34 meters, a beam of 27.40 meters, and flies the flag of Hong Kong, China.

A total of 416 pieces of cargo were handled in this operation, weighing 3,930 tons in total, including components for five wind turbines, a 115 kV/90,000 kVA power transformer, transport frames for the wind power system, wind turbine blades, as well as specialized tools and accessories required for turbine installation. These equipment will subsequently be transported from the Port of Progreso to the construction site of the Tizimín II wind power project, as part of the infrastructure needed for the project's construction.

According to the plan, the equipment transport for this wind power project will be completed in five maritime operations. Following the arrival of the first batch, four remaining shipments are pending to complete the supply of all equipment for the wind farm.

The port authority stated that this operation further strengthens the Port of Progreso's position as a strategic hub. The port is specifically dedicated to receiving and handling oversized cargo to support the development of energy infrastructure in southeastern Mexico.
