Chief Executive Officer Gary Nagle said that the first half delivered strong operational and financial performance, reflecting higher commodity prices, solid operational performance, and the resilience of the marketing business amid heightened geopolitical uncertainty. He noted that the marketing business achieved adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of $3.3 billion, up 142% from the prior period. On an Australian dollar basis, the business's adjusted EBIT was approximately A$5.0 billion.

By segment, the industrial segment's adjusted EBITDA was $9.8 billion, up 72% year-on-year. Glencore attributed this to stronger commodity prices and stable operational performance across the portfolio.

Copper remains central to Glencore's long-term strategy, with the company targeting annual copper production of approximately 1 million tonnes by the end of 2028 and approximately 1.6 million tonnes by 2035.

The company's growth project pipeline continues to advance, with the restart of the Alumbrera project in Argentina expected to achieve first production in the second half of 2027, earlier than previous guidance.
