en.Wedoany.com Reported - Pioneer Arunachalam Packaging, based in Chennai, India, has recently added three customized Rhyguan Smart-450 systems to its equipment portfolio, each equipped with a Luster LabelMaster 450 inspection unit, along with a DYM SACD-450P automatic turret rewinder, a DYM HAU-450 automatic butt-splicing unwinder, and a DYM NAC-450 automatic waste substrate removal system. These machines were supplied and installed by Flexo Image Graphics (FIG), headquartered in Delhi with branches in Chennai and Mumbai.
Company Director Arun Tenzing noted that the partnership with FIG began in 2009 with the purchase of a Mark Andy label printing press; approximately three years ago, the company acquired its first Rhyguan PLUS 420 slitter-rewinder from FIG. This latest procurement includes the customized Rhyguan Smart-450 (equipped with the Luster LabelMaster 450 inspection system) and DYM combination equipment, aimed at strengthening continuously growing production capacity, particularly in the self-adhesive segment. He stated that the rise in self-adhesive label output prompted the company to adopt new equipment to achieve higher slitting capability, more refined inspection processes, and workflows better suited to digital systems. Satisfied with the performance of the existing Rhyguan/Luster combination, the company sought to standardize its equipment workflows, leading to the addition of the Rhyguan Smart-450 high-speed slitter-rewinder featuring the next-generation Luster LabelMaster 450 inspection system.
Regarding the selection of DYM equipment, Tenzing said it was to reduce downtime and streamline workflows, thereby controlling costs in a highly competitive business environment. Initial feedback on machine performance has been positive, with rigorous testing underway, and the new equipment is expected to meet productivity targets and pass durability validation within the coming year. Meanwhile, technical support from the DYM team in China will also be evaluated; if validated, DYM could become a potential partner on par with Rhyguan and Luster in future projects. Tenzing believes that carefully selected Chinese machines have proven functionally to be a strong alternative to European machinery.
