en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 6, Resialentejo, a Portuguese inter-municipal waste management company, announced that the award for the first phase of the expansion of the Montinho Eco-Park has been completed, with construction scheduled to begin in September 2026 and last one year. The project has a tender budget ceiling of €2.9 million, funded by the company's own resources, primarily to build roads and supporting infrastructure for new waste treatment, resource recovery, and recycling enterprises at the park.

The works will provide infrastructure for nine plots ranging from 15,000 to 36,000 square meters, including three park roads and a new access road to the sorting center. Construction scope covers site leveling, road paving, traffic signage, stormwater drainage systems, and culvert facilities, with the sorting center access road to be paved and signposted during the first phase.
Resialentejo will also separately install a leachate treatment system to enhance wastewater treatment capacity, with part of the treated water to be reused in park operations. The Montinho Eco-Park covers approximately 143 hectares and handles municipal waste treatment and resource recovery for eight municipalities in southern Portugal, serving a population of over 86,000 and processing approximately 48,400 tonnes of waste annually.
