The company offers a 3-year warranty on the assembly and cites fleet reports indicating that Stallion coiled air hoses have achieved a 15-year trouble-free service record.
Traditional straight three-in-one hose and cable assemblies have exposed multiple failure points in fleet operations. During sharp turns, since straight rubber hoses rely entirely on mechanical pogo sticks, tracker bars, or spring suspension systems to manage slack, the lines can be stretched to maximum length in tight maneuvers such as 90-degree backing into docks or sharp urban turns, causing air lines to kink at the fittings, cut off airflow, or break at the tractor-trailer connection point. Straight assemblies also require precise length specifications (typically 12, 15, or 20 feet); when the length does not match the tractor configuration or suspension springs age, the center of the harness sags, dragging along the catwalk, and can even be caught by the tractor's rear tires or the inside of dual tires during turns, wearing through the spiral wrap and rubber air lines and triggering U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) out-of-service violations.
The spiral wrap itself also poses hidden hazards. The so-called "spoon-cut" plastic wrap traps sand, road salt, dirt, and ice in severe winter or off-road conditions; truck vibration causes these abrasives to repeatedly wear against the cable and air hose outer jackets until leaks or shorts occur. Additionally, while the straight wrap keeps the deck tidy, replacing a single damaged line in the field requires unwinding several feet of plastic spiral wrap and then rewinding the new line back into the entire harness—an extremely labor-intensive process. As a result, fleets often have no choice but to replace the entire assembly even if only one hose is damaged, at a cost of $130 to $180. The assembly's own weight is also a problem—the combination of two heavy rubber air lines, a 7-pin green ABS power cable, a heavy rubber handle, and rigid plastic spiral wrap exerts tremendous downward pull on the pogo stick or support springs, causing suspension hardware or snap-clips to fail frequently; once the hardware fails, the harness drops directly onto the edge of the catwalk.
The Stallion coiled solution integrates two coiled air lines and one coiled cable into a single assembly. Its engineered coil design features shape-memory retention that automatically retracts, keeping the lines tidy during sharp turns and safely suspended above the deck plate. The material formulation withstands extreme temperatures from -85°F (-65°C) to 260°F (127°C), preventing low-temperature kinking and high-temperature sagging, while offering corrosion resistance to oil, chemicals, road salt, and UV exposure. It also supports quick, safe installation, reducing labor time for tractor-trailer connections.
