The agreement takes effect on February 1, 2027, with a base term of 3 years and two one-year extension options, allowing for a maximum execution period of 5 years.

The framework agreement covers railway maintenance and preparatory work within the Swedish Transport Administration's maintenance plan, specifically including ballast replacement in switch and bridge areas, cable handling, test pit excavation, and operations requiring high construction precision and site accessibility. Each task will be arranged individually by the Swedish Transport Administration through call-off orders during the agreement period.

Railcare will use vacuum excavation machinery to carry out the relevant operations. This type of equipment removes ballast and other materials through suction, enabling work in track environments where traditional excavation equipment is restricted, while reducing interference with surrounding cables, track components, and bridge structures. The agreement is also compatible with Railcare's next-generation electric and battery-powered railway maintenance machinery, but does not involve a one-time procurement of a fixed quantity of equipment.

The Swedish Transport Administration is Railcare's largest customer for construction engineering services. The new agreement will continue to retain vacuum excavation maintenance services on the basis of existing cooperation, with specific workload and execution timelines to be determined based on call-off orders following the agreement's effective date in February 2027.
