Gilat Signs $14 Million Agreement with Peru to Deploy Fiber Optics in Ayacucho

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gilat Perú has signed a $14 million agreement with the Regional Government of Ayacucho to deploy a fiber-optic broadband network in southern Ayacucho.

The project, included under Peru's Obras por Impuestos (OxI) program, is expected to cover 109 localities, benefiting approximately 20,000 residents and 273 public institutions, including 236 schools and 37 healthcare facilities. The project delivery period is 18 months.

Under the agreement, Gilat Perú will deploy over 1,060 kilometers of fiber optics, while also providing network monitoring and management systems, local area network installation, end-user equipment, and accompanying training activities to support the adoption and operation of the new digital infrastructure.

The implementation of this project will extend broadband connectivity to underserved communities, providing schools, healthcare facilities, and other public institutions with network access, thereby improving access to essential services and laying the foundation for the region's future digital development.
