China's SCEGC Indonesia Melamine Project Enters Installation Phase
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 20, the first phase of the Indonesia Jinxiang 120,000-ton-per-year melamine industrial chain project, undertaken by Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group Corporation Limited (SCEGC), entered the equipment installation stage. The first batch of large equipment is arriving on site in succession, with the main building structures, equipment foundation construction, and installation work progressing simultaneously.

On August 5, the melamine unit reactor, weighing approximately 347 tons, was hoisted into place, becoming the first core large-scale equipment to be installed on site. The hoisting operation lasted about 330 minutes, providing the construction conditions for the subsequent installation of the reaction system and auxiliary equipment.
As of now, the geological survey and ground treatment of the project have been completed, and the building foundation construction has basically concluded. Approximately 60 pieces of large machinery, including truck cranes, crawler cranes, excavators, road rollers, loaders, forklifts, concrete pump trucks, and transport vehicles, have been deployed on site. A total of 110 Chinese management and operational personnel are on site, with an average daily attendance of about 580 local laborers.
The project is invested in and constructed by Jiabu United Technology Co., Ltd., a holding subsidiary of Sichuan Jinxiang Sairui Chemical Co., Ltd. Located in the Gresik Special Economic Zone, East Java Province, Indonesia, the project held its groundbreaking ceremony on April 8, 2026, with a total investment of approximately USD 600 million. The project builds an integrated production system centered around natural gas, synthetic ammonia, urea, and melamine.
Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group Corporation Limited undertakes the general contracting of the first phase, with a contract amount of RMB 2.137 billion. The scope of implementation includes geological survey, ground treatment, civil construction, equipment installation, and trial operation. The first phase is scheduled for completion and trial operation in the second quarter of 2027, and is expected to establish production capacity for synthetic ammonia, urea, and melamine, with an annual melamine production capacity of 120,000 tons.
