Wedoany.com Report-Jun 11, Cavotec, a cleantech company, has secured a €1.55 million contract from Equans, an energy services provider, to supply shore power systems for the Port of Antwerp-Bruges cruise terminal in Belgium. The project, partially funded by the European Union, will allow cruise ships to connect to shore-side electricity, enabling them to turn off onboard generators while docked, thereby reducing emissions.

Under the agreement, Cavotec will also provide maintenance services for the equipment for five years. The delivery of the shore power systems is planned for the third quarter of 2026.

David Pagels, CEO of Cavotec, said: “This order reinforces our strong position in the shore power market for cruise applications and highlights the trust customers place in our technology as ports accelerate their transition to clean operations.”

In addition, Cavotec secured a €8.1 million contract in 2025 with a global container shipping company to provide shore power systems for new container vessels. The order includes cable management reels and weatherproof enclosures, with deliveries set to begin in the second half of 2026.

Cavotec also obtained three shore power contracts worth €7 million for ports in Italy. These projects, expected to reduce emissions and enhance air quality, are scheduled for delivery between early and mid-2026.
