en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 24, Spanish renewable energy company Zelestra announced that its Klevenow solar plant in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has reached full commercial operation. This is Zelestra's first operational project in Germany.

The Klevenow plant has an installed capacity of 27.5 MWdc (DC side) and is equipped with approximately 42,300 solar panels. The project was awarded through Germany's EEG tender, with a construction period of less than six months, supporting around 40 jobs during the construction phase. The plant is expected to generate 28,700 MWh of electricity annually, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 9,500 tons per year, and will supply power to meet the electricity needs of commercial and industrial users in the nearby Pomeranian Triangle region.

Mathias Kuenicke, CEO of Zelestra Germany, stated that the commissioning of Klevenow is a significant milestone for Zelestra in Germany, demonstrating the company's rapid execution capabilities from development to construction and operation. He also revealed that two additional solar projects and the company's first battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Germany are expected to begin construction in the coming months, which will bring Zelestra's operational and under-construction capacity in Germany to over 200 MW.

The Klevenow project is part of Zelestra's expansion plan in Germany. The company entered the German market in October 2024 by acquiring a majority stake in German renewable energy developer East Energy. Zelestra's project pipeline in Germany currently exceeds 2 GW, covering solar, hybrid, wind, and BESS projects. The company employs 70 people in Germany and has offices in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and Rostock.
