Milestone Breakthrough! Lijian-2 Y2 Carrier Rocket Successfully Rolled Out, Accelerating the Scale Deployment of China's Low-Orbit Constellation
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 25, the Lijian-2 Y2 carrier rocket developed by CAS Space has completed all pre-delivery procedures as scheduled. The product's functions and performance indicators all meet the requirements for flight missions, and it has successfully passed the delivery review. The rocket is fully assembled and ready to depart for the launch site, with the launch planned for October this year.

The Lijian-2 carrier rocket is China's first launch vehicle featuring a "universal booster core" configuration, with a payload capacity of 8 tons to a 500 km sun-synchronous orbit and 12 tons to a 200 km low Earth orbit. It offers advantages including large payload capacity, high inherent reliability, strong manufacturability, simple and convenient operations, extensive expansion potential, and reusability. As the primary launch vehicle for China's large-scale constellation deployment and low-cost cargo transportation, it will support the scale deployment of low-orbit constellations, low-cost space station cargo transportation, and the launch of various scientific experiment satellites.

As one of CAS Space's flagship products, the Lijian-2 carrier rocket has completed its maiden flight verification, with a stable and reliable technical status. On March 30 this year, the Lijian-2 Y1 carrier rocket successfully delivered the Qingzhou prototype test spacecraft and two satellites into their predetermined orbits, sending 4.2 tons of payload into orbit in a single mission. The maiden flight achieved complete success with excellent performance indicators, successfully fulfilling major national strategic and major aerospace engineering construction missions.
Leveraging the mature model technology system and standardized assembly and testing procedures of the Lijian series carrier rockets, the assembly and testing work for the Lijian-2 Y2 carrier rocket has been carried out efficiently and in an orderly manner. The team has continuously optimized the production, assembly, and testing processes across the entire workflow, iteratively improving product development efficiency and delivery quality. The rocket's assembly and testing cycle has been steadily shortened compared to the maiden flight, steadily advancing toward the goal of standardized and batch-based development and launch.

The Lijian-2 carrier rocket is built on the technical pillars of unified-type propulsion, clustered recovery, modular combination, and upper-stage expansion, establishing a mission spectrum covering all orbits and all payload capacity requirements. This drives China's commercial aerospace from single-mission response toward serialized, flight-based, and intelligent models. China's space cargo transportation capability is evolving from the accumulation of individual capabilities to the integration of system-level capabilities, forming a new landscape of multi-model collaboration and multi-path support.
Currently, CAS Space holds a rich order pipeline, a compact development pace, and stable contract delivery. Among these, the rocket launch service business continues to steadily improve, with launch service revenue showing rapid growth. The company's various model missions are progressing in an orderly manner. In accordance with the annual launch mission plan, multiple important missions will be vigorously advanced this year, making unremitting efforts for the high-quality development of China's commercial aerospace and the building of a space power.
