en.Wedoany.com Reported - One month after merging with StepAhead, Softengine has initiated another acquisition, bringing B.I.T. Soft GmbH & Co. KG, along with its employees, into the fold. The two companies have maintained a partnership since 1998. B.I.T. Soft developed a software solution based on the Softengine ERP platform, designed for vending machine suppliers to continuously track the fill levels and technical condition of their machines. The software transmits fault and sales history data to operators and integrates with their ERP systems on the operator's side. This VendingERP solution is now offered directly by Softengine.

The small software company from Bückeburg, Lower Saxony, chose to join Softengine GmbH—a significantly larger entity with 250 employees—because it believes this will enable it to market its industry solution more effectively than ever before. With this move, Softengine has expanded its proprietary ERP platform, incorporating a proven and field-tested solution for the vending sector into its portfolio.

Demand for vending software is on the rise. In farm shops, for example, more and more operators want to continue supplying customers outside regular business hours by placing goods in closed refrigerated cabinets. Train stations and airports are also seeing a growing number of such vending machines, offering not only food but also other everyday items travelers need. 24-hour stores that operate without sales staff are emerging in both urban and rural areas, and this business model is expanding.

Operators of such infrastructure aim to further reduce labor costs and want to restock 24-hour kiosks and vending machines only when absolutely necessary. To achieve this, telemetry—the continuous transmission of sales data to the operator—is of critical importance. Softengine's vending ERP software links telemetry data with the operator's merchandise management system while also routing payment records (with the share of cashless payments steadily rising) into the financial accounting module. Technical service for vending machines can also be managed more efficiently, as faults are recorded immediately.

Dominik Hartmann, CEO of Softengine, stated that by integrating B.I.T. Soft, the company has expanded its ERP portfolio with a mature and field-tested solution for the vending sector, and particularly values the preservation of the team's industry expertise and years of experience. He emphasized that together they are laying the foundation for long-term support of vending companies in addressing the growing demands of digitalization, automation, and compliance. The compliance requirements referred to here primarily involve the Cash Register Security Ordinance (KassenSichV), data protection, and hygiene regulations.

Like B.I.T. Soft, Softengine has previously integrated several sales partners, such as acquiring the cash register software provider CAS Computer-Abrechnungs-Systeme in 2022.
