en.Wedoany.com Reported - Ignazio Messina & C. plans to launch the West Med Line in September, merging its existing Algeria and Libya services into a single shipping network covering the Western Mediterranean region.

The new service is expected to route via Misurata as a transshipment hub, reducing transit times for cargo shipped through the Suez Canal while increasing sailing frequency and port connectivity across the Western Mediterranean network.

The service will originate from Spain and France, operating on a fixed schedule with departures approximately every 10 days; it will call at direct ports along the route and also connect to other ports via transshipment at Genoa, covering the Spanish, French, Libyan, and Algerian markets.

The standard rotation is: Castellon – Barcelona – Fos – Genoa – Misurata – Tripoli – Misurata – Algiers – Castellon.

The first sailing will be operated by the vessel "Libertas H" on voyage 298, scheduled to depart from Castellon on September 6; the second sailing will be operated by the vessel "Pacific Dalian" on voyage 310, scheduled to depart from Castellon on September 17.

Shortly before the launch of the West Med Line, the company had already introduced the Red Sea Express Line, calling at Nhava Sheva, Sohar, and Jeddah with departures every 20 days, running in parallel with the existing Jolly Line, with the vessel "Berham Box" deployed as a dedicated ship, with its maiden voyage scheduled to depart from Nhava Sheva on August 27.

The company stated that the new service is part of a service improvement plan aimed at providing more efficient, reliable, and flexible solutions to adapt to evolving market demands; the West Med Line will also expand the company's network footprint in the region, strengthening the synergy between existing services and the market.
