Austrian Novventos Promotes Off-Grid Solar-Wind System, Claims Two Turbines Can Generate 12,000 kWh
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Austrian startup Novventos Clean Energy has developed a container-based hybrid power system that integrates photovoltaic generation and small vertical-axis wind turbines on a single platform, providing decentralized power for off-grid and temporary electricity scenarios, with a unified energy management system coordinating the operation of both generation technologies.

The photovoltaic component comes from the "sky.boost" system developed by the company after its founding in 2023, whose modular structure is specifically designed for installation on ISO containers and is claimed to be assemblable within hours.
The wind component, named "naca.boost," is a small vertical-axis wind turbine designed for installation heights of 3 to 8 meters. Novventos states that this model can utilize turbulent airflow near the ground, conditions under which traditional wind turbines may not be suitable. The turbine features a shroud at the top that directs wind toward the rotor, with wind power primarily used to supplement photovoltaic output during periods of low solar irradiance.
According to data provided by the company, two naca.boost turbines can generate 12,000 kWh, while the photovoltaic modules generate an average of 3,400 kWh; however, Novventos did not specify the time period corresponding to these generation figures.
The photovoltaic and wind components are uniformly controlled by the "master.boost" energy management system, which monitors the output of both technologies and manages energy distribution. Generation and operational data are simultaneously aggregated to the company's cloud platform, where users can view them through a web interface.
These components are combined into a containerized system sold under the "mobile.energy" brand, targeting off-grid sites and temporary applications, with an optional trailer for mobile deployment.
Currently, Novventos has not published detailed technical specifications for the complete system, including the installed capacities of both photovoltaic and wind generation, which also makes the aforementioned generation data difficult to further assess. Additionally, the company has not mentioned whether battery storage is part of the mobile.energy system.
