The project is part of Adnoc's Umm Shaif Long Term Development Plan, aimed at maximizing gas recovery and increasing production from the field.

McDermott and its Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan consortium will deliver the full EPCI scope for a new surface pressure boosting facility, including the fabrication and installation of an offshore jacket and topsides, as well as associated brownfield modifications. Upon completion, the topsides are expected to be among the heaviest offshore modules ever installed in the Middle East. Mike Sutherland, Senior Vice President of McDermott's Middle East offshore operations, stated that this award reflects Adnoc's confidence in McDermott's ability to safely and efficiently deliver complex offshore development projects. With extensive regional experience and integrated execution capabilities, the company looks forward to supporting Adnoc's production targets and contributing to the UAE's long-term energy ambitions. Angela De Vincentis, Vice President of McDermott's Middle East offshore operations, added that the company is strategically and reliably expanding its role in the development of the Umm Shaif field, aligning with Adnoc's vision for sustainable energy growth.
