en.Wedoany.com Reported - Cosmo Films has introduced a new high-tear-resistance polypropylene synthetic paper sheet, targeting durable label and identification sign applications. The product is a polypropylene co-extruded sheet with matte coatings on both sides, designed to simultaneously offer the look and feel of traditional paper and the durability of plastic film, addressing the issue of traditional paper products being prone to tearing or damage during processing and handling.

The new product is positioned as a high-tear-resistance, flexographic/thermal transfer printable, double-side coated synthetic paper, supporting multiple printing methods including UV offset, water-based and UV flexography, and thermal transfer. It enables high-quality printing on both sides and can be customized through die-cutting and perforation to meet specific processing needs. Kulbhushan Malik, the company's Global Business Head, stated that synthetic paper is becoming an important specialty film category, and this new product targets applications with stringent requirements for tear resistance, printability, and dimensional stability. The double-side printing capability further expands its applicability in label and identification sectors.

The product is available in four thickness specifications—125, 150, 200, and 250 microns—with a maximum roll width of 1550 mm. It has received FDA approval, making it suitable for applications with strict requirements for material safety and food contact. Applicable fields include garment hang tags, tree labels, airport transfer tags, horticultural identification labels, and cattle identification tags, as well as other applications involving repeated handling and a higher risk of tearing.

This launch continues the company's product expansion in the specialty film segment, with its existing synthetic paper line already covering non-tear matte coated options, positioned as durable alternatives to traditional paper products. Cosmo Films currently has an R&D team of over 30 professionals, continuously developing specialty and sustainable film solutions for packaging, labeling, and industrial applications.
