Kratos Secures Over $20 Million Mobile Satellite Communications Gateway Contract from Asian Customer

The scope of delivery under the contract includes Kratos' Trifold transportable satellite antenna. This antenna is deployed via vehicle-mounted configuration, can be set up without the need for specialized tools, and is integrated into a mobile satellite communications hub to establish on-site satellite communication links. This contract corresponds to a complete mobile gateway system rather than a standalone antenna equipment procurement.

The complete system will also be configured with a mobile equipment shelter, integrating baseband platforms and network monitoring software. Among these, the Compass system is responsible for centralized monitoring and control of equipment within the satellite communications network, while the Monics system handles RF spectrum monitoring and interference detection. According to Kratos' official product documentation, Compass enables centralized management of remote sites and network equipment operational status, whereas Monics provides satellite carrier monitoring and RF interference identification capabilities.

Under the configuration specified in this contract, the Trifold antenna, mobile satellite communications hub, baseband equipment, Compass network monitoring system, and Monics spectrum monitoring system will form a turnkey mobile satellite communications gateway. The system is designed for dynamic deployment environments, providing a relocatable satellite communications node when fixed communications infrastructure is unavailable.

Kratos currently offers ground system products including fixed and transportable satellite earth antennas, RF infrastructure, network management, and spectrum monitoring.
