FLS Signs Full-Process Mine Service Agreement with Lloyds Metals
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 2, FLS signed a lifecycle service agreement with India's Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL), covering the full range of FLS equipment deployed in LMEL's mining operations. The agreement value and specific duration were not disclosed. FLS will deploy a dedicated on-site service team, develop maintenance plans for the relevant equipment, and take on responsibilities including on-site management of spare parts and consumables, as well as equipment commissioning preparation training.
The two parties also plan to build a supporting maintenance center to provide repair and service capabilities for LMEL's existing FLS equipment. Under the agreement, the maintenance center, together with the on-site team, maintenance plans, and spare parts supply system, will form a comprehensive equipment lifecycle service framework covering equipment readiness, routine maintenance, personnel training, and consumables and spare parts management.
This agreement builds on the previous equipment procurement cooperation between the two parties. FLS confirmed that it has secured multiple equipment orders from LMEL over the past two years, and this collaboration further extends from equipment supply to long-term operation and maintenance of installed equipment. FLS's previously supplied equipment portfolio for India's large-scale iron ore beneficiation projects includes high-pressure grinding rolls, vertical tower mills, pumps, hydrocyclones, flotation equipment, and filtered tailings systems, with multiple batches of equipment scheduled for phased installation and commissioning between 2026 and 2027.
LMEL is expanding its mining and beneficiation capacity at the Surjagarh iron ore mine in Maharashtra. According to company data, the mine currently has an operational iron ore capacity of 10 million tonnes per year, a dispatch capacity of 26 million tonnes per year, and iron ore reserves of approximately 857 million tonnes, including 156 million tonnes of hematite and 701 million tonnes of banded hematite quartzite (BHQ). LMEL has obtained environmental clearance for expansion and plans to increase Surjagarh's capacity to 55 million tonnes per year.
LMEL is simultaneously advancing the construction of supporting beneficiation and logistics facilities at Surjagarh, including a 45 million tonnes per year run-of-mine beneficiation capacity, two 5 million tonnes per year grinding units, and an ore slurry pipeline project. FLS's lifecycle agreement corresponds to LMEL's expanding installed equipment scale, with on-site services, the maintenance center, and spare parts and consumables management covering the installed base formed by the two parties' existing equipment cooperation.
