en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 2, Goldgroup Mining announced its latest exploration plans for the Don David Mine in Oaxaca, Mexico. The mine, held by its subsidiary Don David Gold Mexico, encompasses the producing Arista and Alta Gracia underground mines, as well as regional concessions extending approximately 55 kilometers along the San José structural corridor. The company has identified multiple gold-silver and polymetallic epithermal mineralization systems along this corridor, with Margaritas and El Rey designated as current priority exploration targets.

The Don David Mine is not a single deposit structure. Existing mineralization types include precious-metal-dominated low-sulfidation epithermal systems, as well as polymetallic intermediate-sulfidation epithermal systems occurring in areas such as Arista. Among these, El Rey is located at the northwestern end of the concessions, where historical drilling encountered localized high-grade gold-silver mineralization at relatively shallow depths. The company is currently evaluating it as an independent precious-metal exploration target distinct from the polymetallic mineralization system at Arista.

As of July 31, Goldgroup has completed 123 drill holes totaling 25,726 meters of diamond drilling at Arista and Alta Gracia this year, of which approximately 16,249 meters were used for infill drilling, 8,794 meters for step-out drilling, and an additional 683 meters for orebody control. Over 97% of the drilling footage was focused on resource infill and expansion. Up to six drill rigs were operating simultaneously on site, with drilling covering existing production orebodies and peripheral extension areas.

The company is also advancing development of the San Juan vein within the Arista mine. This vein has been accessed via the main ramp, with underground development scheduled to commence in 2026. Plans include continued step-out drilling to the east, progressively advancing toward the Victoria mineralization system. Peripheral targets such as Margaritas constitute the regional exploration pipeline beyond existing mine infrastructure.

Following Goldgroup's merger with Gold Resource Corporation completed in July, Don David has become its largest producing asset. The company now holds four 100%-owned precious-metal assets in Mexico and the United States, with Don David and Cerro Prieto in the production stage, San Francisco under evaluation for production restart, and Back Forty in the development stage. Current drilling priorities at Don David remain focused on resource infill, orebody extension, and identification of new peripheral mineralization structures.
