Echo Unveils New Battery and Charging Technology in 2026

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Outdoor power equipment manufacturer Echo introduced four new products this year, with improvements focused on how operators use the equipment and how they charge it. Echo showcased these new products to a group of editors and influencers at its 2026 Power-On-Athon event in Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Leading the new battery offerings from Echo are the X Series Tabless Batteries, available in 5Ah and 10Ah capacities. Designed for commercial use with improved performance over previous generations, they are scheduled to hit the market in the second quarter of 2027.

Compared to previous generations, the X Series batteries feature upgrades including onboard diagnostics, allowing contractors to view battery status and performance—including the number of completed cycles—via an LED display. The screen also alerts operators to temperature warnings.

Echo has improved the rain resistance of the X Series batteries for better all-weather performance. They now include a USB-C port for charging mobile devices, a SecurePocket compartment for tracking devices like AirTags, and slightly flexible handles that make it easier for workers to carry multiple batteries at once.

Alongside the X Series batteries, Echo also launched two charging products designed to help contractors keep their tools running.

Among them, the LC-56V1A6 six-port daisy-chain charger allows three chargers to be linked together using the included outlet, enabling up to 18 56V batteries to be charged simultaneously from a single 120V/15 amp outlet. The included stainless steel wall-mounting bracket gives contractors more placement options for these large charging units.

For overnight fleet charging scenarios that don't require electrical upgrades, Echo also introduced the PDM-204T Power Distribution Manager. Contractors can plug up to four chargers (for a combined total of up to 16 charging ports) into the PDM, which itself plugs into a 20-amp outlet. As batteries charge, the PDM automatically senses and adjusts the load.

The PDM's smart load-balancing feature detects when a charger is drawing excessive power and cuts off output to that unit, allowing contractors to leave large numbers of batteries charging at the station without worrying about tripped circuit breakers. An LED screen displays the PDM's total load in real time.

In addition to battery technology, Echo also launched several new outdoor power equipment (OPE) products for the commercial landscaping market.

Among them, the PB-9510 backpack blower is the most powerful Echo has ever built, delivering 56 Newtons of blowing force and air speeds of up to 235 miles per hour, with a 105-fluid-ounce fuel tank, powered by a 79.9cc two-stroke engine. The padded harness provides lumbar and chest support; operators can use the Posi-Loc tube and variable-speed control, and upgrade the PB-9510 with tube-mounted or waist-mounted throttles.

Another launch at the event was a new snow thrower attachment. Demonstrated with artificial snow at Echo's Lake Zurich campus, the attachment is compatible with Echo's Pro Attachment series platform and throws snow up to 25 feet.

Operators can clear snow up to 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep, and the attachment features a 60-degree directional louver.
