en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 3, AI infrastructure company Nscale and U.S. humanoid robotics company Figure signed a multi-year strategic cooperation agreement, planning to deploy up to 100,000 GPUs for Figure based on the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform. The initial compute deployment is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027 in Barstow, Texas, with an initial compute procurement commitment valued at $3.5 billion. The two companies plan to expand the cooperation scale to over $6 billion in the future. Nscale will also make a strategic equity investment in Figure, though the specific investment amount and stake percentage have not yet been disclosed.

Under the agreement, Nscale will become Figure's preferred compute supplier, responsible for providing power, GPU computing platforms, and the compute orchestration layer, while integrating NVIDIA AI infrastructure. The relevant compute will be used for the training and deployment of Figure's next-generation Helix AI model, as well as humanoid robot R&D.

Figure is expanding its robot training data collection scale. On August 25, the company unveiled the Index data collection platform, which had covered over 100 countries by that time, with more than 264,000 app downloads, approximately 44,000 weekly active users, and over 16 million uploaded video segments. In its September 3 announcement, Figure stated that Index is currently generating data at a rate of approximately 35 minutes of video per second, and the company plans to invest over $1 billion in data and compute over the next 12 months.

Figure's models will be trained on the NVIDIA Vera Rubin compute infrastructure provided by Nscale, with simulation validation conducted using NVIDIA Isaac Sim, before being deployed to Figure humanoid robots equipped with NVIDIA GPUs. The two companies also plan to explore the application of Figure humanoid robots in Nscale's supply chain and infrastructure operations scenarios, though specific deployment quantities and timelines have not yet been announced.

Nscale plans to deploy over 100,000 Vera Rubin GPUs in Europe in 2027, with its Sines data center in Portugal planned to host more than 66,000 GPUs. The company is also advancing the Monarch Compute Campus in West Virginia, U.S., with plans to build up to 1.35GW of Vera Rubin AI compute infrastructure.

On August 31, Nscale completed a loan financing of up to $1.85 billion for the deployment of GPUs, networking, storage, and liquid cooling equipment at its Ward County data center in Texas, U.S. The campus is planned to support approximately 200MW of IT load, with plans to deploy NVIDIA GB300 and Vera Rubin systems. The initial compute deployment location for this Figure cooperation is Barstow, Texas.
