en.Wedoany.com Reported - Azul Airlines has resumed operations on the route between Mossoró (Rio Grande do Norte) and Recife (Pernambuco), reconnecting the second-largest city in Rio Grande do Norte to the company's main hub in northeastern Brazil. The new flights expand travel options for local passengers: from Recife, connections are available to 32 domestic and international destinations, while also offering more flight choices for travelers heading to Mossoró, one of the state's largest economic centers.

The route operates twice weekly in each direction, on Thursdays and Sundays, using ATR aircraft with a capacity of up to 70 passengers. The outbound flight departs Recife at 12:50 PM and arrives in Mossoró at 2:20 PM; the return flight departs Mossoró at 2:50 PM and arrives in Recife at 4:20 PM. Mossoró and surrounding cities thus gain greater connectivity to other regions of Brazil and international destinations.

Beatriz Barbi, Senior Manager of Network, Distribution, and Alliance Planning at Azul Airlines, stated that resuming flights between Mossoró and Recife is an important step toward strengthening the company's presence in Rio Grande do Norte and meeting the demand for air transportation in the state's interior; Mossoró is a key economic and tourism hub in the region, and resuming operations aligns with Azul's mission to connect places and drive market development.

Marina Marinho, Director of the Rio Grande do Norte Tourism Board, said this route is a strategic step in the state's efforts to advance tourism into the interior. Air connectivity shortens the distance between the interior and major source markets, increasing opportunities for visitors to reach destinations with tourism potential such as the western region and Costa Branca, while boosting the local economy and reinforcing the decentralized tourism policy that prioritizes destinations beyond the state capital.
