en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 11, Philippines' FAST Logistics Group signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Buskowitz Energy to build and operate a 779.96 kWp grid-connected rooftop solar system at the FAST Cold Chain Hub in Cebu. The project is located in Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu Province. Buskowitz Energy will be responsible for system installation, asset management, and subsequent operations, while FAST will purchase the electricity generated by the project through the long-term power purchase agreement.

The project plans to install approximately 1,300 photovoltaic modules across a rooftop area of about 4,500 square meters. In its first year of operation, the system is expected to generate approximately 1.23 million kWh, meeting up to about 35% of the cold chain center's electricity demand, and will be equipped with a 24-hour online monitoring platform to track actual power generation and system operation.

Under the existing agreement, Buskowitz Energy will be responsible for investing in, installing, and managing the photovoltaic assets, and FAST will not need to directly own and operate the power generation assets. The project adopts a grid-connected operating model, with the electricity generated primarily used for the daily electricity consumption of the cold chain center. FAST Cold Chain Hub Cebu began operations in 2021, has 10,500 pallet positions, and mainly provides temperature-controlled warehousing and cold chain logistics services.

The cold chain center serves sectors including food and beverages, meat processing, fruit and vegetable distribution, catering, and pharmaceutical and vaccine logistics, and its refrigeration system needs to operate continuously. This 20-year power purchase agreement will connect the rooftop solar system directly to the existing warehousing energy system. Subsequent project milestones include module installation, grid connection, and system commissioning.
