SolarEdge Launches UL 3141 Certified Commercial PCS

en.Wedoany.com Reported - SolarEdge Technologies Inc. (SolarEdge) announced on September 3 the launch of its new Power Control System (PCS), which has received UL 3141 certification. The product is aimed at U.S. commercial and industrial solar project developers to simplify utility interconnection and expand on-site solar power generation.

The company said the product and its certification cover Power Export Limit and Non-Export Control functions, which commercial installers can also use.

Kleber Facchini, Senior Director of Commercial and Industrial Projects and Applications at SolarEdge North America, said commercial customers want to get the maximum value from their solar investments without adding unnecessary cost, complexity, or engineering burden; the UL 3141 certified commercial Power Control System makes it simpler for installers to address export limits and design systems around customers' evolving energy needs. As electricity demand continues to grow, the product can help businesses make better use of existing electrical infrastructure while expanding on-site solar generation.

The launch of the product points to the problem of commercial electrification continuously adding large loads to the grid. Manufacturing expansion and the rise of AI data centers have, to some extent, intensified potential grid pressure, making it harder for the United States to offset energy consumption.

SolarEdge said businesses across the United States are seeking to install solar capacity to offset surging energy consumption; at the same time, U.S. utilities continue to adopt increasingly stringent interconnection requirements, making commercial project expansion difficult. Addressing these constraints often requires additional control equipment, custom engineering, and power infrastructure upgrades.

The company said the commercial UL 3141 PCS addresses these challenges by integrating certified power control directly into SolarEdge inverters. The new product combines commercial solar system architecture with inverter-integrated power control, providing a more standardized approach to grid-connected deployment that helps reduce balance of systems requirements, lower design pressure and costs, improve overall project economics, and support the export limits required by utilities.

SolarEdge's UL 3141 certified commercial Power Control System is now available for purchase. The company added that eligible partner products include Synergy inverters and three-phase inverters.
