Qoro Signs Agreement with UK STFC Hartree Centre to Build Quantum-HPC Demonstration Project
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Quantum middleware startup Qoro Quantum has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hartree Centre under the UK's Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), under which the two parties will jointly build an enterprise-grade hybrid quantum-high-performance computing demonstration project.

Under the collaboration arrangement, Qoro's automated software stack will be directly integrated into the Hartree Centre's high-performance computing (HPC) cluster infrastructure, serving research workloads for UK industry and the public sector. The integration relies on the open-source Quantum Resource Management Interface (QRMI), establishing a tightly coupled execution path between classical HPC schedulers and multiple quantum processing unit (QPU) resources.
Above the interface, Qoro's open-source Python SDK, Divi, can automatically partition, serialize, and parallelize complex quantum circuits and route them as native Slurm jobs to the Hartree Centre scheduler; below the interface, Qoro's unified simulation engine, Maestro, operates in concert with physical QPUs from hardware partners including IBM and Pasqal, thereby providing an automated, auto-scaling simulation and execution backend.
From the perspective of software stack layering, the application and SDK layer is handled by Divi, which performs application-aware circuit parallelization as well as Slurm job generation and circuit distribution; the interface and middleware layer includes the QRMI open-source management plugin and the Dedicato private infrastructure stack, responsible for standardizing multi-QPU resource routing and supporting the sovereign quantum-HPC value chain; the execution backend layer consists of the Maestro auto-scaling simulation engine, providing a multi-node classical simulation foundation and heterogeneous QPU access for IBM and Pasqal.
The initial demonstration workflows will target real-world challenges in electronic structure theory, physical science modeling, and quantum chemistry, establishing documented reference benchmarks for the UK quantum research community. The collaboration is aligned with the UK's broader sovereign computing initiatives, involving the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC) and the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC), with plans to expand physical QPU pilots to the energy, finance, and pharmaceutical sectors in the future.
This collaboration builds on Qoro's previous commercial progress: the company has launched the Solo cloud platform and conducted a quantum-HPC demonstration project pilot with Spain's CESGA. Under the leadership of Director Kate Royse and CEO Dan Holme, the joint effort aims to deliver a "build once, run anywhere" software model, eliminating the need for custom integration code for industrial supercomputing users.
