Non-ferrous metal ore rail shipments in Bashkortostan, Russia, increased by 50% in the first 8 months

en.Wedoany.com Reported - From January to August 2026, Russian Railways loaded 331,600 tons of non-ferrous metal ore and sulfur-containing raw materials at stations in the Republic of Bashkortostan, an increase of 50% compared with the same period in 2025. This category of cargo became one of the higher-growth categories in local industrial rail transportation.

During the same period, total rail freight loading in Bashkortostan reached 15.4 million tons, up 2.3% year on year. Among this, oil and petroleum products amounted to 8.5 million tons, up 4.7% year on year; construction cargo was 2.1 million tons, up 2.9% year on year; chemicals and soda ash were 1.6 million tons, down 3.9% year on year; fertilizers and mineral fertilizers were 484,800 tons, up 5.4% year on year; grain was 459,300 tons, up 80% year on year.

Non-ferrous metal ore and sulfur-containing raw materials already showed significant growth in the single month of July. That month's loading volume was 44,300 tons, up 51.5% year on year. From January to August 2026, Russian Railways' network-wide loading of non-ferrous metal ore and sulfur-containing raw materials was 12.2 million tons, up 5.1% year on year.
