en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 12, 2026, SANY Heavy Equipment held a departure ceremony for autonomous mining trucks at its Shenyang Industrial Park. The first batch of SKT110Ei battery-electric autonomous mining trucks officially left the park, bound for the South American market. SANY stated that this move marks the official launch of its first autonomous mining truck project in South America and signifies the first entry of China's autonomous mining technology into the South American market, which SANY calls "a strategically significant milestone."

Constrained by a chronic shortage of professional mining truck drivers and rising labor costs, the customer urgently needed to advance its intelligent operations transformation, hoping to resolve operational pain points and improve production efficiency through autonomous driving solutions. SANY noted that after a comprehensive evaluation of multiple global industry leaders, the customer ultimately selected SANY and adopted its full suite of autonomous driving solutions.

The delivery scope includes autonomous mining trucks, a supporting dispatch system, and operation and maintenance services. SANY stated that, in response to the unique haulage conditions of the customer's overseas mine, the project team conducted in-depth analysis around core pain points such as safety production, cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and personnel risk control, integrating capabilities in equipment manufacturing, technology R&D, and overseas on-site support to tailor a solution for the customer. At the same time, leveraging the mature operational experience accumulated in domestic mines, SANY fully alleviated the customer's concerns.

SANY believes that securing the first South American autonomous mining truck project is both market recognition of SANY Group's decades of brand heritage, global layout, and high-end manufacturing capabilities, and the inevitable result of its long-term technology investment, scenario accumulation, and large-scale field validation.

SANY also stated that, as a leading enterprise in the autonomous mining truck sector, its wholly-owned subsidiary SANY Intelligent Mining has focused on building "digital mines, green mines, and intelligent mines" since its inception. The company possesses 100% proprietary core technologies and has established a full-industry-chain technological advantage covering wire-controlled chassis, multi-sensor fusion perception, AI decision-making algorithms, and cloud-based intelligent dispatch platforms.

Currently, China's autonomous haulage system (AHS) market for mines remains dominated by third-party specialized vendors, with representative companies including Yikong Zhijia, CIDI, and Tage Zhixing. Meanwhile, original equipment manufacturers are also continuously refining and iterating their self-developed solutions to provide customers with complete integrated delivery capabilities.

According to SANY Intelligent Mining data, as of July 2026, it has deployed over 300 autonomous mining trucks in total, with large-scale commercial operations covering major domestic open-pit mining areas in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, and other regions. Cumulative safe operating mileage has exceeded 13 million kilometers, and earth and rock haulage volume has surpassed 41 million cubic meters, fully validating the maturity and reliability of its technical solutions under various complex and harsh operating conditions.

According to SANY, the SKT110Ei battery-electric autonomous mining trucks shipped this time feature high reliability, high availability, and low energy consumption, and are equipped with a fully self-developed autonomous driving system that can effectively reduce mine operating costs, improve operational efficiency, and fundamentally transform traditional mining operation models.

Looking ahead, SANY Intelligent Mining will take this project as a starting point, leveraging SANY's global service network to expand into overseas markets, providing full-process technical support and operational guarantees to ensure efficient project implementation and stable operation. At the same time, the company will continue to increase R&D investment in autonomous mining technology, iteratively optimize products and solutions, and work hand in hand with global mining partners to jointly drive the global mining industry toward intelligent, green, and efficient transformation.
