Wedoany.com Report-Jun 29, On June 3, 2025, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) signed the main construction contract, Package XL04 TAMR, for the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project in Hanoi. The agreement involves EVN and a consortium of six Vietnamese firms: Lung Lo Construction Corporation, Song Da Corporation – JSC, Lilama 10 JSC, SCI E&C JSC, Construction 47 JSC, and Truong Son Construction Corporation.
The contract includes construction and installation tasks, covering headworks such as the approach canal, intakes, and penstock sections, as well as non-headwork elements like the powerhouse, tailrace canal, and transmission infrastructure. Temporary structures, including cofferdams, are also part of the scope. Construction is set to start in June 2025, with the first turbine unit expected to generate electricity in the third quarter of 2027, followed by the second unit in the fourth quarter. The project is slated for completion by the end of 2027.
The signing ceremony was attended by EVN President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan, executive board members, and representatives from financial partners, including Mr. Daniel Plankermann, Director of Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) Hanoi Office, and the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).
EVN Vice President Pham Hong Phuong stated: “The Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project is one of EVN’s key investment projects in 2025 and has been designated as a commemorative project for the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, 2025.” He highlighted the support from Dong Nai Province authorities, KfW, and BIDV, noting the contract’s significance as the project’s largest and most essential package. Phuong added: “EVN highly values the capacity and experience of the consortium in executing hydropower projects and believes that the consortium will ensure progress and quality, and meet the investor’s expectations.”
Representing the consortium, Mr. Tang Van Chi, General Director of Lung Lo Construction Corporation, said: “The consortium is committed to strictly implementing all contractual obligations, determined to meet the schedule, ensure labor safety, environmental sanitation, and public security, and promptly bring the project into operation.”
Located in Hieu Liem Commune, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province, the project aligns with Vietnam’s National Power Development Plan for 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050. It has a total investment of VND 3,965 billion and an installed capacity of 200MW. Power Project Management Board 3 will oversee contract execution, ensuring timely resolution of construction issues to adhere to the schedule.
