Sinograin's First 10,000-Ton-Class Grain Air Dome Warehouse Successfully Completes Air Film Inflation

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 19, the first 10,000-ton-class grain air dome warehouse in China, built by Sinograin in Changchun, Jilin Province, successfully completed air film inflation. The project plans to build four grain air dome warehouses, each with a diameter of 30 meters and a height of 29 meters. At 9:19 a.m., the air film inflation officially began. In just 50 minutes, the air dome structure was successfully lifted, smoothly formed, and precisely seated. This 10,000-ton-class grain air dome warehouse project is the first practical application in the cold high-latitude region of Northeast China, setting a new record for the single-unit scale of large air dome grain storage facilities in China.

According to the project manager, the construction project closely follows the national food security strategy, aims for "green grain storage and smart grain storage," and adopts China's advanced grain air dome warehouse type and green grain storage processes. During the design and construction process, the project fully considered the climate characteristics of Northeast China, such as long cold winters and large temperature differences, making the warehouse better adapted to local grain storage needs in terms of thermal insulation, air tightness, and waterproofing and moisture resistance.

"The air tightness of the entire warehouse exceeds the relevant requirements for China's high-standard grain warehouse construction, laying a solid foundation for the implementation of controlled atmosphere grain storage, which helps inhibit pest breeding and reduce grain storage losses. In addition, the interior of the warehouse has no beams or columns, providing a large-span, unobstructed storage space that facilitates grain storage and mechanized automated operations. The grain air dome warehouse adopts an inflatable forming process. After the foundation construction is completed, the warehouse body erection and internal construction can be completed in about 120 days, with more streamlined procedures and less construction waste," said the project manager.

The grain air dome warehouse was jointly developed under the coordination of Sinograin by Sinograin Chengdu Grain Storage Research Institute and China Coal Construction and Installation Group starting in 2017. In May 2023, the first batch of pilot warehouses was completed at Sinograin Xinjin Directly Subordinate Depot in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. This warehouse type adopts the internationally leading air dome reinforced concrete dome structure and innovatively adopts a three-center spherical dome structural shape, combining structural safety with rainwater accumulation prevention. The construction method is integrated forming, effectively ensuring air tightness and thermal insulation. Its air tightness is more than 6 times the relevant requirements for China's high-standard grain warehouses, and its thermal insulation performance is 3 times that of traditional shallow silos. Operation and maintenance energy consumption is expected to be reduced by more than 30%. In 2022, it was rated by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council as one of the "Top Ten Super Projects of Central State-owned Enterprises." In July this year, the 9,000-ton-class grain air dome warehouse built by Sinograin at the Changsha Directly Subordinate Depot in Hunan Province was officially loaded with grain for compaction.
