en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 21, U.S. oilfield services company Halliburton announced that it has signed memoranda of understanding with Brazilian integrated energy company Eneva and engineering firm WESCA, respectively, to cooperate on oil and gas resource development opportunities in Venezuela. Both agreements remain at the cooperation framework stage, and no specific oil and gas fields, investment amounts, drilling quantities, engineering contract scales, or project implementation timelines have been disclosed.

Under the memorandum signed with Eneva, the two parties will jointly identify and advance energy development opportunities in Venezuela. Eneva is a major Brazilian integrated energy company and one of the country's largest private natural gas operators, and the two parties have previously established a business partnership in Brazil. This agreement extends the existing cooperation to Venezuela, but Halliburton's announcement has not yet disclosed the specific natural gas blocks, project companies, or development plans the two parties intend to participate in.

The other memorandum signed between Halliburton and WESCA is specifically focused on technical work at the oil and gas field level. Under the agreement, Halliburton will provide support for WESCA's oil and gas field evaluation and development planning in Venezuela. The two parties are already collaborating on reservoir understanding, digital technology, and subsurface geological interpretation, and the subsequent work will be used for reservoir evaluation and development plan decision-making.

At this stage, both documents are memoranda of understanding, not awarded oilfield service contracts. No specific drilling, completion, logging, fracturing, or production optimization work packages have appeared in publicly disclosed information, nor have final investment decisions, procurement arrangements, or commercial execution deadlines been announced. For the relevant projects to move from a cooperation framework to specific engineering implementation, target assets, development plans, and formal contracts still need to be further determined.

Halliburton has nearly 90 years of business history in Venezuela. The company stated that it currently maintains operation bases, operational capabilities, and local technical resources with a strategic presence in the country, which can be used for subsequent customer project execution. Following the signing of the agreements with Eneva and WESCA, its business scope in Venezuela will first enter through front-end segments such as development opportunity identification, oilfield evaluation, and development planning.
