Wedoany.com Report-Jun 26, The Bangladesh Directorate of Food Products (DGF) has launched an international tender to procure 50,000 tons of milling wheat, according to Zerno On-Line, citing European traders. The tender is set for July 9, 2025, with delivery planned for the ports of Chittagong (30,000 tons) and Mongla (20,000 tons).

This follows a previous tender that concluded on June 22, 2025, where the lowest offer was $275 per ton on a CIF liner out basis. The upcoming tender aims to secure a steady supply of milling wheat to meet domestic needs, ensuring efficient distribution through key port facilities.

The DGF’s initiative reflects Bangladesh’s ongoing efforts to maintain stable food supplies through international procurement. The tender process is designed to attract competitive bids from global suppliers, supporting the country’s food security objectives. The designated ports of Chittagong and Mongla are critical hubs for handling large-scale grain deliveries, facilitating efficient logistics and distribution.

By sourcing milling wheat through this tender, Bangladesh aims to meet consumption demands while ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. The process underscores the importance of transparent and competitive procurement to support the nation’s agricultural and food supply chain.
