Saudi Almoosa Hospital Signs SAR 782 Million MEP Contract

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 22, Almoosa Health of Saudi Arabia announced that it had signed a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering contract with BEC Arabia for the Almoosa Specialist Hospital in Khobar, with a contract value of SAR 781.66 million, excluding VAT. The contract was formally signed on September 21. The scope of construction covers the hospital's mechanical and electrical systems and will be implemented in accordance with approved engineering drawings and technical specifications. The relevant works commenced immediately, with a contract duration of 24 months.

The hospital is located in the Al Bahar district of the new waterfront area in Khobar, covering an area of approximately 45,000 square meters, with a total gross floor area of more than 300,000 square meters. It is planned to have 400 inpatient beds and more than 300 outpatient consultation rooms, as well as multiple specialized medical centers. The project also includes a three-level underground parking space capable of accommodating approximately 2,000 vehicles.

This MEP contract is a core construction package newly added on the basis of the ongoing main structure works. In November 2025, Almoosa Health awarded BEC Arabia the contract for early works, foundation, and concrete structure construction, with a contract value of SAR 657.5 million and a duration of 24 months. As of early 2026, the company disclosed that the project design and early works had been completed, main structure construction had entered the implementation stage, and MEP works had not yet commenced at that time.

Under the latest contract, BEC Arabia will continue to undertake the construction of the hospital's MEP systems. Almoosa Health disclosed that the project construction is funded by the company's own funds and long-term Shariah-compliant bank loans. Upon completion, the hospital will become an important new healthcare asset for Almoosa Health in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province.
