en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 18, construction officially began on the King's Park rental housing project in Scarborough, Toronto, Canada. Located at 146 Galloway Road, the project held a groundbreaking ceremony at the end of August. It is being advanced by 146 Galloway Inc. in partnership with Mondconsult Limited and Kantium, with RAW Design responsible for architectural design. The project plans to build a 10-storey residential building offering a total of 168 long-term rental homes.

The project site covers approximately 23,300 square feet, or about 0.54 acres, with a planned total gross floor area of approximately 114,300 square feet and a floor area ratio of about 4.92. 146 Galloway Inc. completed the acquisition of the site in May 2024 for CAD 5.6 million. The site is located south of Kingston Road, along Galloway Road.

King's Park adopts a purpose-built rental housing development model. Planning documents show that the project consists of market-rate rental housing and affordable rental housing. At this stage, the project has moved from preliminary approvals and site preparation into actual construction, with early civil works such as excavation shoring already underway on site.

The Scarborough–Guildwood area where the project is located has seen a continuous increase in multi-unit housing supply in recent years. The King's Park site had previously undergone development plan adjustments and multiple rounds of technical submissions. The new plan has been taken over and advanced by Mondconsult Limited, while continuing to use RAW Design's architectural design system.

The project team currently includes 146 Galloway Inc., Mondconsult Limited, Kantium, and RAW Design. With the groundbreaking milestone completed, subsequent construction will enter the stage of main structural and supporting facility works.
