Windey Energy Plans Direct Equity Investment in Fintel's 854MW Wind Power Project in Serbia

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 22, Fintel Energia Group and China's Windey Energy Technology Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement during WindEnergy Hamburg 2026 in Hamburg, Germany. The agreement specifies that Windey Energy will participate in Fintel's project pipeline in Serbia through direct equity investment, either investing independently or jointly with other Chinese institutional investors determined by Windey Energy and approved by Fintel. The cooperation focuses on the 854MW Maestrale Ring wind power project, as well as approximately 110MW of wind power projects currently under construction by Fintel in Serbia.

The core project of this cooperation, Maestrale Ring, has a planned installed capacity of 854MW. As early as 2023, Fintel had selected Windey Energy as the preferred wind turbine supplier for the project, with related agreements covering the supply and installation of 112 WD200 7.7MW wind turbines, as well as 10-year service and maintenance after the project is commissioned. This new agreement further adds an equity investment arrangement on top of the existing equipment supply relationship.

Fintel currently has approximately 110MW of wind power projects under construction in Serbia, including the 68.4MW Košava 2, as well as Kula 2, Kula 3, Kula 4, and Ram. In 2023, Windey Energy was selected as the preferred wind turbine supplier for these projects under construction, with the supply scope including 28 wind turbines and 10-year service and maintenance. Fintel currently has three operational wind farms in Serbia — Kula, La Piccolina, and Košava 1 — with installed capacities of 9.9MW, 6.6MW, and 69MW, respectively.

The strategic cooperation between the two parties also extends to investment in modular AI data centers, with the relevant facilities planned to be deployed near Fintel's substations. The agreement also includes Windey Energy providing institutional and government-level support for Fintel's projects in Serbia, involving assistance in advancing project permitting procedures through relevant channels. Fintel officially disclosed this support as one of the core elements of the agreement.
