Supabase Raises $150 Million and Acquires Database Company Turso
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 2, the open-source Postgres development platform Supabase completed a new $150 million funding round and announced the acquisition of database company Turso. The funding round was led by Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC, with participation from CapitalG, IronArc Ventures, and Square Peg. Supabase did not disclose the post-funding valuation or the purchase price of the Turso acquisition, so the $150 million funding amount does not correspond to the consideration for this acquisition.

Following the acquisition of Turso, Supabase will incorporate Turso's technology for large-scale lightweight database scenarios into its own database product system. Turso is based on the SQLite technology path, has rewritten SQLite in Rust, and has built an architecture that allows a single server to manage a large number of independent databases, which can be loaded on demand and paused when idle. Turso's existing cloud service will continue to operate, while forming a subsequent integration path with Supabase's Postgres-based platform.
Supabase currently creates more than 1 million databases per week. The latest data released by co-founder Paul Copplestone further shows that the platform adds more than 1 million new users per month and nearly 5 million new databases, about 70% of which are created by AI agents or AI-driven tools. This product integration will target workloads that need to quickly create independent databases for different agents, tasks, or users.
After the acquisition is completed, Turso co-founder Glauber Costa will lead Supabase's Agentic Services business, and co-founder Pekka Enberg and the Turso team will also join Supabase. Supabase's existing Postgres products will continue to be developed, while Turso will continue to advance SQLite technology and Turso Cloud. The two sides will subsequently develop new database infrastructure for AI agent workloads.
This $150 million funding round comes about 4 months after Supabase's previous major funding round. In June 2026, Supabase completed a $500 million Series F funding round at a post-money valuation of $10.5 billion, also led by GIC.
