en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 5, Etihad Airways and Nigerian airline Ibom Air signed an interline agreement. The agreement will take effect when Etihad Airways launches Lagos and Accra routes in March 2027. Passengers will be able to connect from Etihad's global network via Lagos or Accra to Ibom Air flights to five Nigerian cities — Abuja, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Calabar, and Enugu — on a single through ticket, with baggage checked through to the final destination.

In addition to connecting to Ibom Air's domestic routes via Lagos, the agreement also covers two interline connections: Accra–Abuja and Accra–Uyo. Tickets combining both airlines' networks will go on sale from November 3, 2026, allowing passengers to purchase segments from both airlines in a single booking.

Etihad Airways plans to launch daily nonstop flights from Abu Dhabi to Lagos on March 23, 2027, and to Accra the following day, operating four times per week. Ibom Air will operate onward regional segments from these two West African gateway cities, with Uyo and Calabar being included in Etihad Airways' single-ticket interline network for the first time through this agreement.

Etihad Airways had previously established an interline partnership with Nigerian carrier Air Peace, enabling connections via Lagos and Accra to multiple destinations in Nigeria, West Africa, and Central Africa. Following the signing with Ibom Air, the cooperation between the two airlines will enter the implementation phase simultaneously with the launch of Etihad's new Lagos and Accra routes.
