Air Canada Extends Dubai Route Suspension Until Late March 2027

According to a travel notice updated by Air Canada on September 24, this adjustment is related to the security situation in the Middle East; the airline had previously extended the Dubai route suspension until mid-January 2027, and this latest extension adds approximately two and a half months.
Major airports in the United Arab Emirates are still maintaining flight operations, but some regional routes have seen cancellations and delays. On September 29, Air Arabia cancelled flights G9068 and G9124 from Sharjah to Kuwait, as well as G9107 from Sharjah to Bahrain; Etihad Airways did not report widespread cancellations that day, with flights to and from Bahrain and Kuwait continuing to operate as scheduled. Flydubai also did not announce widespread cancellations that day and required passengers departing from Dubai to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours in advance.
Some international airlines that had previously suspended Dubai routes have arranged phased resumptions. Singapore Airlines plans to resume Dubai flights on October 24, Lufthansa plans to resume Dubai–Frankfurt and Dubai–Munich routes from October 25, and Swiss International Air Lines plans to resume the Dubai–Zurich route on October 27; British Airways plans to resume Dubai services from November 3, and Austrian Airlines plans to resume the Dubai–Vienna route from December 12.
According to International Air Transport Association data, as of late September, the global average aviation fuel price fell 4.9% month-on-month to USD 185.43 per barrel. The main operational changes in the UAE aviation market currently remain focused on route resumption timelines, regional flight adjustments, and airlines' security assessments of Middle East routes.
