Russia's 2025 crude oil supplies to India exceed $43 billion

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 7, Vladimir Ladanov, Minister-Counselor at the Russian Embassy in India, presented the state of Russia-India energy cooperation at an Asian energy security dialogue event. According to the data he released, the total value of Russian crude oil supplied to India in 2025 exceeded $43 billion, and crude oil deliveries in the first half of 2026 increased by 25% year-on-year. Russian crude oil is mainly supplied to Indian refining companies for the production of gasoline, diesel, and other petroleum products, with some refined products entering the international market.

In India's refining business, Rosneft holds a minority stake in Nayara Energy. The company operates the Vadinar refinery in Gujarat, purchasing Russian crude oil for processing, with products sold through more than 7,000 gas stations in India while also supplying gasoline and diesel to overseas markets. Ladanov listed Nayara Energy as Russia's largest direct investment project in India.

The mutual investment scale between Russian and Indian oil and gas companies is approximately $15 billion each. The overseas investment arm of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation participates in Russia's Sakhalin-1 oil and gas project, while Indian Oil Corporation, Oil India, and Bharat PetroResources have also invested in Russian upstream oil and gas assets such as Vankorneft and Taas-Yuriakh.

The two sides are studying cooperation opportunities in India's city gas distribution, new oil and gas and petrochemical facilities, and joint development of energy resources. The Russian side has also proposed that Indian companies could participate in the Ust-Luga liquefied natural gas project and related transportation infrastructure development, and study investment opportunities in the Vostok Oil project cluster and Arctic continental shelf liquefied natural gas projects.
