Blue Origin Plans 120,000-Square-Meter Satellite Manufacturing Campus in the United States
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 8, the U.S. space company Blue Origin announced plans to build a new manufacturing campus in Texas, establishing a satellite and communications equipment manufacturing base named the "Constellation Campus" in Hutto. The campus is planned to have a building area of approximately 1.3 million square feet (about 121,000 square meters) and will consist of multiple production facilities, primarily undertaking the manufacturing of satellite communications systems, ground communications equipment, and key aerospace subsystems. The company plans to add more than 2,000 manufacturing and related jobs at the campus over the next 10 years.

The new campus will undertake equipment manufacturing tasks for Blue Origin's TeraWave satellite communications network. The network serves enterprise, data center, and government users and is planned to provide symmetric data transmission capabilities of up to 6 Tbps globally. The campus will provide production support for TeraWave-related satellite communications hardware, serving as one of Blue Origin's main manufacturing bases for its satellite communications business.
The campus will also expand production capacity for equipment for the Quartz global ground communications network. Quartz uses antennas with a diameter of 3.7 meters, supports S-band and X-band communications, and can provide ground communications connectivity for low Earth orbit space missions. The system began global deployment in August 2026, with the first three ground stations completing installation and testing. The company had previously planned to expand deployment to 9 sites by the end of the year.
In addition to satellite communications network equipment, the campus will also produce solar arrays, avionics, telecommunications subsystems, and other satellite hardware. The related manufacturing facilities will cover the key equipment and components required for multiple Blue Origin space communications projects.
Blue Origin established Launch Site One in Texas in 2006 to conduct rocket and space system-related activities. As of the announcement of this campus plan, the company had more than 550 employees in Texas.
