en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, Romanian energy company Rompetrol announced that its Rompetrol Quality Control (RQC) is implementing a modernization and upgrading plan for its refining and petrochemical laboratories, procuring approximately 40 analytical testing instruments, covering the Petromidia refinery in Navodari, the Vega refinery in Ploiesti, and the petrochemical products laboratory. The upgrade scope includes high-performance chromatographic analysis, chemical element detection, particulate matter measurement, and physical property testing systems, involving quality testing of automotive fuels, aviation fuels, bitumen, solvents, and petrochemical products.

This upgrade is equipped with high-performance chromatographs, primarily undertaking composition testing of aviation fuels and other specialty petroleum products, analyzing key parameters that affect fuel performance, stability, and safety. The newly added testing equipment also covers systems for determining sulfur, nitrogen, chlorine, and metal compounds, as well as instruments for testing particle counts, physical properties, and other quality indicators, enabling low-concentration component analysis.

The laboratory has simultaneously introduced a digital data management system, adjusted sample analysis and test result processing workflows, and expanded the scope of testing services. RQC has also configured a mobile testing laboratory that can travel to customer sites to measure atmospheric pollutant emission indicators; its environmental laboratory provides water, air, and soil testing services, executing relevant environmental monitoring requirements of Romania and the European Union.

RQC's existing testing business includes full quality testing of gasoline and diesel accredited by the Romanian Accreditation Association (RENAR), as well as testing of aviation kerosene containing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) components. The company has also obtained biodiesel testing certification from the Romanian Auto Registry (RAR). The newly added analytical equipment will be incorporated into its fuel and petrochemical product testing system.

The Petromidia petrochemical products laboratory undertakes continuous quality monitoring of polymers and testing of plastic materials for food contact. The Vega refinery laboratory provides full testing services for n-hexane, covering polymerization-grade and food-grade solvents, and also undertakes component analysis and quality testing of road bitumen products. Both refinery laboratories and the petrochemical laboratory are included in the scope of this equipment upgrade.
