en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 23, Brazilian oil company Brava Energia obtained an operating license from the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) to conduct offshore drilling operations at the Atlanta field in the Santos Basin. The license permits drilling of up to 9 wells. The company currently plans to drill two production wells, ATL-9H and ATL-10H, with drilling expected to commence by the end of 2026 and first oil targeted for the first half of 2027. The two wells have a combined production target of 15,000 to 20,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

Drilling at the Atlanta field will be carried out by the Lone Star semi-submersible drilling rig, operated by Constellation, which is currently completing follow-up operations on the PPT-53 well at the Papa-Terra field in the Campos Basin. Brava plans to move the rig to Atlanta after the relevant operations are completed to continue drilling the two production wells. A total of 4 new production wells are planned across the two fields. Two wells at Papa-Terra have already been drilled, of which the PPT-52 well began production at the end of September.

The engineering plan previously disclosed by Brava includes new well drilling, subsea tie-back and production start-up operations. The tie-back work for the two Atlanta wells is scheduled for early 2027, followed by a gradual ramp-up to production. The company holds an 80% interest in the Atlanta field and serves as operator, with Westlawn Energia holding the remaining 20%. Brava's planned capital expenditure for 2026 is approximately US$550 million, of which about two-thirds will be allocated to the joint drilling program at the Atlanta and Papa-Terra fields, with the remainder for maintenance work.
