India's L&T-owned Vyoma.AI breaks ground on 52 MW AI data center

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 28, Vyoma.AI, a subsidiary of India's Larsen & Toubro (L&T), held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 52 MW artificial intelligence data center in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, officially launching a new phase of data center construction. The project is located in the group's planned AI factory campus and adopts direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology, along with renewable energy integration and energy-saving systems. The campus's existing 30 MW data center is already in operation, with supporting power infrastructure readiness reaching 150 megavolt-amperes (MVA).

The new data center is designed for high-density AI computing workloads and plans to use a direct-to-chip liquid cooling system to provide heat dissipation for high-density servers and AI accelerated computing equipment. The project will also be equipped with renewable energy integration facilities and energy-saving technologies, serving hyperscale cloud service providers, emerging AI cloud service providers, and AI computing enterprises.

The existing 30 MW data center at the Chennai campus has already deployed an AI computing cluster and is supported by 150 MVA power infrastructure. The newly built 52 MW facility will be incorporated into the subsequent construction arrangements of the same campus, forming a coordinated layout of the existing data center and the new high-density computing facilities. L&T also plans to build the Chennai campus into a gigawatt-scale AI computing base and, through Vyoma.AI, advance a data center development plan with a total scale of more than 250 MW in India.
