en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 27, Luxembourg-based satellite communications operator SES and French media group Canal+ completed the renewal of their long-term satellite capacity cooperation agreement, extending their satellite transmission partnership through 2040. The new agreement covers Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, and Canal+ will continue to use SES satellite capacity across multiple orbital positions to support its pay-TV and video content transmission operations. Canal+ currently has more than 40 million subscribers in over 70 countries worldwide.

The renewal covers transmission resources at multiple satellite orbital positions, with SES continuing to supply the satellite capacity required by Canal+ for cross-regional distribution of video and pay-TV signals. The cooperation regions include the European television market, the African television distribution market and the Caribbean. The new contract extends satellite capacity supply arrangements in these regions through 2040.

SES and Canal+ began their satellite capacity cooperation in 1995. Previously, the two parties renewed a satellite capacity agreement covering Europe and Africa in 2020, involving the French Canal+ and TNTSAT platforms, the European M7 television business and the Canal+ Afrique business. The 2026 agreement further extends the long-term cooperation period and adds the Caribbean to the announced scope of services.
