en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 27, Metroselskabet, the Copenhagen metro company in Denmark, completed the prequalification of contractors for the civil works of Phase 1 of the M5 metro line, shortlisting two consortia, Havn5 JV and M5VE, to proceed to the next round of competitive dialogue. The contract is valued at approximately DKK 6.5 billion and covers two TBM tunnels, six stations and elevated structures. The project is scheduled to complete final tendering by the end of 2027, with the construction contract to be signed between late 2027 and early 2028, and the Phase 1 line is expected to open in 2036.

The shortlisted Havn5 JV consortium comprises France's VINCI Construction, Germany's Hochtief Infrastructure and Denmark's Aarsleff. The other consortium, M5VE, comprises France's Bouygues Travaux Publics, Razel-BEC and Denmark's MT Højgaard Danmark. In the subsequent stage, the two consortia will each engage in competitive dialogue with the client on engineering design, construction methods and contract conditions.

This civil works contract mainly covers the southern section of Phase 1 of the M5 line, including two TBM tunnels with a total length of approximately 7 km, five underground stations, one elevated station, five transverse cross passages, one ramp, one terminal shaft, and approximately 2 km of elevated viaduct. These facilities fall within the same civil works contract and do not include the procurement of trains or signalling systems.

According to the client's arrangements, the competitive dialogue will focus on construction methods, allocation of project risks, cost control and construction carbon emissions. The two consortia are expected to submit final bids by the end of 2027, followed by contract review and signing procedures. The civil works contract for Phase 1 of the M5 line has not yet been awarded, and both consortia remain at the shortlisted stage.
