en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 2, German industrial technology company Siemens announced the launch of an extra-low-voltage (ELV) drive solution for mobile robots and automated guided transport equipment, consisting of the new Sinamics E210 frequency converter and Simotics E-1EE1 servo motor, supporting 24V and 48V battery-powered systems. The solution is primarily aimed at automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and unmanned transport systems, and can be integrated with Siemens' TIA Portal Totally Integrated Automation platform and the Simove modular system to enable coordinated configuration of drive control, functional safety, and automation control for mobile equipment.

The Sinamics E210 is a compact regenerative frequency converter introduced in this launch, specifically designed for battery-powered low-voltage mobile equipment, capable of controlling vehicle traction, wheel drives, steering, lifting, and auxiliary motion axes. The device can connect directly to 24V or 48V battery systems without the need for additional voltage conversion equipment. The frequency converter features a compact design, high overload capability, and flexible mounting options to adapt to the limited installation space inside mobile robots.

In terms of communication and safety configuration, the Sinamics E210 integrates safety functions and supports the PROFIsafe safety communication protocol and PROFINET IRT real-time industrial Ethernet communication. The device can be engineered and configured via TIA Portal and connected to the Simove modular system to operate in coordination with the upper-level automation control system of mobile robots. Its motion control scope covers not only vehicle travel drives but also steering mechanisms, lifting devices, and other auxiliary motion mechanisms.

The Simotics E-1EE1 servo motor paired with the frequency converter supports 24V and 48V power systems and is available in shaft center heights from 40 to 63 mm, covering low-voltage drive applications with higher power and torque requirements. The motor features a 14-bit BiSS-C absolute safety encoder and an internal dual-channel architecture, supporting safety-related applications up to Safety Integrity Level SIL 2. The relevant safety capabilities depend on the specific configuration and functional safety design of the overall system.

The Simotics E-1EE1 is equipped with an electronic nameplate function, allowing the Sinamics E210 to automatically read motor-related parameters for device parameter setting and commissioning. The series also offers optional holding brakes, various gearbox configurations, and multiple connection options, enabling combination according to the transmission structure and motion control requirements of the mobile platform. The combination of the electronic nameplate and the drive control system reduces the work of manually inputting motor parameters.

Siemens has combined the Sinamics E210 and Simotics E-1EE1 into a coordinated and matched low-voltage drive combination, providing mobile logistics equipment manufacturers and system integrators with a unified drive and automation integration solution. This announcement confirms the product combination and main technical functions of the new frequency converter and matching servo motor, but does not disclose specific sales prices, initial delivery quantities, customer purchase contracts, or on-site operational test results.
