en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 2, Indian chemical company Hikal Limited signed a multi-year contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) agreement with a global agrochemical company headquartered in Europe to supply a specialized agrochemical product for the global market. The contract was signed by Hikal's Crop Protection business division, and the collaboration covers product process development and commercial manufacturing. This signing builds on the two parties' prior collaborative development and marks the transition of the relevant product from the process development and scale-up stage to a long-term commercial supply arrangement.

The product has completed nearly three years of collaborative process development and production scale-up. Hikal undertook the product process development and scale-up tasks, translating the customer's product requirements into a manufacturing process suitable for commercial production. This contract converts the results of nearly three years of collaborative development into a long-term commercial partnership and also demonstrates the company's capability in handling complex product process development, scale-up, and commercial manufacturing.

Commercial supply is expected to begin by the end of fiscal year 2026–2027, around the end of March 2027. The actual supply schedule will advance progressively according to regulatory approvals in different countries and regions, and supply volumes are expected to increase gradually as more markets obtain relevant approvals. Hikal has not disclosed the product name, specific chemical composition, annual supply quantity, or contract value, and the partner has also not disclosed its specific corporate name.

Hikal's Crop Protection business is the executing entity for this contract. The company has five manufacturing facilities in India, located in Taloja and Mahad in Maharashtra, Panoli in Gujarat, and Jigani in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The company also has a research and technology center in Pune, with operations covering process chemistry, research and development, and commercial manufacturing, enabling it to provide global customers with services from product development to manufacturing supply.
